my father gave me a bag of coins and told me to find out if they were of any value
i couldn't tell what these coins were though
could anyone possibly help me figure out what they are/what they are worth?

These are ancient coins of the Ptolemy's the rules of Egypt after Alexander the Great conquered it. They all have some value, not my area of collecting but I'm sure someone will come along and give you more info.

Didn't think they would be that old. Now I'm needing to ask my dad where/when he got these coins.

Hello,
What would be your defination of "not too old?"
I'd be guessing no one alive today, paid for a stall loaf of bread with one of those coins anytime of late.
This would be un educated guess, but i'd be aiming 1760-1820 era

The Ptolemaic Kingdom started circa 332 BC with Ptolemy I Soter and ended 30 BC with with death of Cleopatra. These coin appear genuine to me so they are much older than a few hundred years.
