The Chinese character identifying the mint on this ten cash coin is dian (滇) which is the abbreviation for Yunnan Province located in the far southwest part of the country. While the characters may look similar, the character representing Zhili (Chihli) does not have the three little dots ("water radical") to the left which can clearly be seen on the coin. There are two many little bumps, in places on the surface, and all over on the sides of the characters, which say casting was involved in the production of this "coin". The surface itself is weird for a struck coin, even after cleaning- Please, do not clean a valuable coin! Report this Post to the Staff
