Just wanted to say thankyou. I've always had a small basic coin collection but decided to get more serious about it. I've been reading on this forum for weeks and have decided to go the Bullion / PM route. I've collected up a bit of 90% silver but finally bit the bullet, went to a coin store near me, talked to the guy a bit and bought 10 Maple Leafs, 1 ASE for 31$ a pop and 3$ in junk halves. He has 16 1oz silvertowne bars he wants to sell in a go at 29$ a piece as of today so may go back next Saturday and pick those up. It was fun picking up some nice shiny silver and just wanted to say thanks for all I've learned on here so far. Can't wait to see you guys at the convention in Philly in August, less than an hour from me, should be fun. (31$ a pop was a 1$ over Goldmart each so kinda meh, but no shipping / wiring was nice)

Welcome! And congratulations on a great start toward building your silver stack! You just can't go wrong with Silver Maples and 90% silver.

I agree with centerpin! Got a 1oz maple leaf for my 13th birthday and have been buying bullion for 1 year now and have 50oz now.

to the CCF forum. I collect bars and 90% as well as Maples and ASEs. The SilverTowne bars are of good quality and a worthy addition to any bullion collector's hoard. Those silver Maples are beautiful coins, as are ASEs, and very nice additions too. The 90% US silver coins minted before 1965 are also great additions. They are easily recognized as silver and can be a less expensive way to stack than most other coins, rounds, or bars. You have some nice choices there and are off to a great start as a bullion collector.

Thank you all, I have a ton of hobbies that I spend small fortunes on, I like adding this as a "hobby" because I feel like it's something longterm I may make money from / can leave to my kids. The coin I'd really like to grab a bunch of are the Libertad's, hoping to find some at a reasonable price sometime soon.

I used to live less than an hour from there or I would have gladly attended. But I took off for Oregon more than a decade ago. Honestly, can't say I miss the East Coast very much. Except for the food, of course. Philly cheese steaks, boardwalk fries, Italian subs, Chesapeake blue crabs; delicious!
