No this isn't Syrian. The pictures aren't really clear, but it is an Egyptian 2 Piasters minted in the year 1980. That one is for sure.

amida17, yes that's what I have been told. Because as you would know, It looks exactly like the eagle on Syrian coins, but Syrian coins have stars inside the eagle. During the United Arab Republic's time, 2 stars were in the body of the eagle, just like the Union's flag. Later on, after the separation of the union, three stars were engraved inside the eagle like in the Syrian flag. And you are welcome guys :) Love to help when I can.
