I started because sliver was cheap and could get 10 oz's for a little over $50 each week.

I moved your thread to the PM/BUllion forum, where you're more likely to encounter bullion stackers.

I've been interested in North American and world coins for many years. However, I started stacking bullion and junk silver as an inflation hedge only last year.

When I had this lady I work with offer me a ton of 90% coinage for $600 for the whole bag. Ended up being well over $100 face and this was a year ago april when silver was high. I kept the Morgans as I try to never sell silver dollars but flipped the coinage. Now I am in it head over shoulders, just really love staking and collecting.

I started by accident. I work as a cashier and eventually for a short time manager of a groc store. I got to see alot of change and I paid face value for and saved what I liked. Turns out most of that was silver.

Honestly I was watching a minting show one day, and right after that I changed it over to Pawn Stars knowing the show is 100% fake. But the episode when the guy brought in $115,000 worth of silver bars. After seeing those shows, and to me, the beauty of silver, and also the possibly good investing properties of it, I've been hooked ever since.

When I heard about Quantitative Easing, the Fed printing more and more money, Wall Street market and currency manipulation, currency devaluation, Tax-and Spend gov't, the Housing Crisis and, IMHO, the Student Loan & Debt will be the Next Crisis, Social Security will not be there when I retire, the ever-softening economy and job market, Bank Saving Accounts not paying anything, inflation, the ever rising oil and food prices, medical care, illegal immigration etc etc.

In these trying times, physical bullion is something I can count on!

I've been into gold and silver for as long as I can remember. My parents used to buy silver for me with birthday and Christmas money when I was young.

It's come in handy a few times in my life for major purchases!

I now have kids of my own and I do the same for them.

Got tired of getting zip in a bank account so moved to the safety of gold and silver. Bought them as an insurance policy against a collapsing dollar.

I use to collect coins when I was little. I remember when I was really young, I bought a 1/10th oz age proof from the mint for like 113$ as an investment.... I had to be like 13 years old lol. Kinda weird for s 13 year old.

I also collected some silver eagles and Morgan's that I would find at antique markets that my dad bought me.

I kind of quit collecting until a few years ago. I got an engineering internship that paid really well, and wanted to buy something that would hold its via,he better them just sitting in my bank account. So I was going to buy one of those proof gold eagle sets that have the 1/10 1/4 1/2 and 1 ounce gold eagles.

I ended up buying a roll of silver eagles couple of 1/10 gold eagles and some junk silver lol...

And ever since then I opened an Ira, a brokerage account, and invest whatever I have left in pm's.

Not to bad for a 24 year old still in college

For me, I cant save money. I would always have the idea how to spend it the night before pay day. So I decided that I would buy silver because, it does feel like it should be worth more.
Also, it feels like I'm still collecting something, and saving / investing at the same time. Its also more dificult to go to a coin shop than it is an ATM.

To simply put it, because it is shiny.

I started though, when I started looking into copper penny hoarding, decided that was too small for my like, and moved into coin collecting, and silver.

Someone told me how much silver had increased in value, made me remember my uncle had given me 5oz in 2001. When I went to look about selling, I learned all about the economy over the past few years and thought it would be a good investment. Started adding instead of selling and as time went on I liked the different bullion coins available and I liked being able to become more disciplined and find those good deals. Short version.
