Hi,

Here's another yard sale find from last week.

Please give me,

1) the grade,

2) whether or not a variety exists here and

3) what sort of ebay resale price could one expect to receive

Thanks,

mdpmedia

Sorry, I'm not that good at grading. Maybe a VF20-EF40? Check the pictures here: http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ictoria&id=8
A VF20 would list at $100 and an EF40 at $190 as per here: http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ts-1858-1901
There are no major or minor varieties listed for this denomination and year but it is one of the rarer dates. Nice find!

I'd say VF.
Poor eye appeal and gouge marks on obverse (unless they are just more toning) keep me from grading it any higher.
Mintage of 500K make it one of the scarcer issues.
Latest Charlton has a VF20 price of $75 but I wouldn't expect to realize that price on ebay.

I would price it as a F-12

Very dark toning, which does not help the eye-appeal, but all the elements of the design are there. I would grade that coin as VF-30. Good find.
