I think FDK last prefix could be getting very scarce,an aUNC one had a valuation of $2,330 in 2009 by this site.

But yeah for a note in that condition it's just crazy bidding.

All those creases and grime on the note must be why it is sooo valuable

The FDK C&W prefix is the lowest print run of the
General "Commonwealth" prefix $2 releases.
Only 96,000 were printed.
Only a couple of the Star notes have lesser numbers.
The catalogues have got the "Value" of this note wrong.

Having said that, at $1400 it's not really a steal in the condition it's in.

Cool Rob,i think the fact that the last recorded sale was 3 years ago gives an idea of just how rare the FDK note is.

I would suggest that it is a very solid indicator.
The catalogues should have this note at 10% below
the "Star" valuations, ie about $450 for this note.

The way this auction is going a lot of Decimal collectors
will be checking if they have one and if not Demand is
going to heavily test the current cat. value.

Appleangel07, you raised the rarity of the FDK prefix, but the letters are FKD (I'm not a banknote collector so how do the FDK and FKD prefixes relate?)

Well picked up
It is obviously a typo by AA and ford.
The correct prefix for the last is FKD
The prefix FDK would just be a normal issue note
