Prolonged exposure to light including normal domestic light
will fade paper notes reducing there value.

Polymers might be o'k.

Does polymers block any of the light? Isn't there a type of glass you get get in a frame that blocks the harmful light rays?

I've seen polymer fade the same way as paper notes.

I had some full sheets of old stamps framed and the framer recommend archival glass and backing paper to protect.

Why would you want to risk ruining a perfectly good note by exposing it to light of any kind

Some people enjoy knowing their items are safely locked away, others enjoy having them on display and looking at them....

I have always assumed that is what our albums are for
Coins may be fine in a sealed glass frame But notes will suffer.
Put a brand new note on the dashboard of your car for a few months and you will definitely see the damage.
Not the greatest idea IMHO

IMHO - Just as you can frame any two thousand or two hundred year old document or painting, all can be mounted in a safe archival manner very reasonably by a good art b&M. They use safe non acidic paper and special glass.

There you go. I was thinking maybe one day of framing my block (of 4) $5 polymers with the red serial starting BA96000094. I've always wondered just never got around to actually physically doing it. We'll the UV glass is definitely extremely relevant. I know that some blocks were mounted by the NPA in the past & some of the earlier paper notes used to be mounted with pins, so occassionally you'll find a note faded on one side with a pin-hole in each corner. I like what southsav's saying, but utimately, I believe it'd be rather expensive.

A cheap alternative? Maybe take a kick-ars* scan & get a photoshop to print it...I'm not sure on the legalities of doing that, but that'll make it last with a portrait on the wall & the original in your safe-deposit box.

Store any coins or notes in albums with pages that suit and place them in a secure humidity controlled place never show them off in a common environment UV and moisture kills valuables
Safes are the best option with silica gel sachets added is better than displaying out in the open even your mates can unwillingly be impressed by your collection and tell someone in good will and the someone can decide to break into your house and rob you. This has happened to me before so just zip it is my advice
