gizmo123. Wow, what an interesting topic to start your first correspondence on the Coin Community Family website

I once picked out a 2 dollar coin with a very thick rim on the obverse. Checked it out with a coin dealer who classified it as "counterfeit". Had to hand it in I hope your coin is genuine.

Another Aussie in the mob

Sounds like you have an interesting coin.
Either scan it or take a couple of pic's so we can have a squizz at it.

Mules are rare? Yeah we all know that.

Counterfiets are illegal...yeah we know that.

Theoretically, if everyone hands their counterfiets in then counterfiets will be rarer than mules?

the 2000 mule used an obverse die from a 10-cent, which is smaller than a $1, and thus the visible difference.
But what does the difference on the reverse side look like ?
I'm having trouble imagining that,

and I'm waiting to see a pic ...

Hard to say, can't really see the coin well enough to grade it, if it's a partial colar probably between $50 & $100 depending on grade,if it's just a slightly off centre strike then Australian Coins link tells the story.

Does it look like this around the edge ?

Hold it for another 5 years mate!
I'm sure people sold the 2000 mules back in 2001-02 for under $50
Only the buyer would be happy now!
