I need to find out if these Chinese coins are replicas and are they worth anything?

Thanks

Kim

They look like modern die struck replicas of cast cash coins.

However there were some genuine die struck cash coins actually produced, although most of these are common enough to have little value.

Really need to examine the coins in hand to be fairly sure about that.

Thank you. I've been researching and my head is spinning. I prefer US coins but looking to unload these coins.

Some years ago, I built up a cast cash collection of Chinese coins, of all dynasties, and most Emperors. I paid around 20 cents average for each piece, and wasn't prepared to pay more than that at the time.

The reason for my 'scroogeness' had to do with the fact that I could see that the cast cash series could be very easily faked, and I still do not have the ability to spot the dud ones. That was OK, if you are only paying around 20 cents each for them!

One of those cases, that if I have been hoodwinked I don't really care! With the current much higher retail prices of these things, combined with the fact that I already have a decent collection of them, I am no longer an active collector of this series. My collection numbers about 150 different types.

These are modern (after 1990) copies of Chinese cast coins. One give away is that the sides with the mint name are identical. The other is that the bumps on the coins are raised. The styles of writing of the coins are not accurate. These were sometimes put in 10 coin sets of the Ching emperors, and sold to unsuspecting tourists as "GENUINE ANTIQUE CHINESE COINS".
