Brand new collector. Considering 1829 Capped Bust half-dollar as investment. I can't find images comparing small to large letters on this coin. Any easy to follow descriptions, or suggestions?
Thanks, Dan

Can you tell us why you have chosen an 1829 Bust Half as an investment?

I'm unaware of a Large vs Small letter designation for the 1829 Bust Half. That's probably why you can't find images of them.

The Red Book does show both small letters and large letters for 1829 with large letters being worth slightly more.

Overton says nothing about it, and I'll believe the guy who codified the Bust Half varieties over the Red Book every day of the week.

Fascinating, and I concede the point to that extent. It still isn't in Overton.

My Overton book (revised 2nd Edition) says 110 & 116 are large letters.

I'm drawn to the various designs of the Capped Bust series. I actually promised myself I wouldn't collect for collectors sake... that I'd only buy silver for PM values, but I've strayed. I understand there is a vast amount of information needed to be absorbed along with hands-on experience in the art of coin collecting.
I'm already realizing that although I have the inclination, I don't have the time nor energy.
I am unable to wrap my mind around process of taking a photo and having it appear somewhere in/on PC.
I do want to thank everyone for input on Capped Bust letter size. Dan

I'm in your boat. I've only started "seriously" collecting coins in the past three years. If any place on the internet can give you advice, you've come to the right site. But I would heed the words of those above, coin collecting is something you love. If your coins go up in value, so much the better. But as an investment? I don't know. Here is one of mine.
