Does anyone recognize the symbol in the right field of this Licinius Follis?

I never seen that symbol before. I went and looked at the Greek alphabet and found something similar, but not a match.

The third Sigma letter is close. Although, I'm not sure that letter existed back then.

I thought it might be a Sigma, but just wasn't certain. It makes sense since Siscia struck coins with Sigma in the right field. This is a nicely struck Genio Avgvsti, but it looks like the beginnings of BD in the mintmark.

That is an odd one. I haven't been able to find anything that matches.

This is a stigma or the Greek numeral for 6 that replaced digamma in the later period. I have one just like this on a coin of Philip I but by the time of Licinius they tend to be like an S with a weaker bottom half. This is unusual and worth buying IMHO.

Possibly RIC 207b page 480 Volume VI rated Common (but you need to see the obverse to be sure).

Well, thanks for all the help, but I was out-sniped in the bidding on this coin. A very last second bid came in that pushed it past my bid. I owuld have loved to add this to my collection, ahh, but that is the way of it, eh? Anyway, here is the obverse of the the Licinius Follis:

Hello Jwarper,
My first post here on this site.
The symbol looks likely to be the Greek letter Digamma.

Surprisingly, no. Much, much lower. I kept following the bidding action and at the last few seconds put in another bid, but with time running out, someone snipped a bid of $21.50. What a deal. I was willing to go much higher, but time ran out before I could put in another bid. I should have bid high in the first place, but noooo, I had to try to get a deal. I'm kicking myself all over.

BTW, welcome to Masis and I appreciate the reply. I guess you read where I lost out on a good deal on this coin. Darn, I'm mad at myself. Anyway, I wanted to make sure you know I am grateful for the input and that you are welcome here.

the "obulco as" coin? there were a couple and some other interesting coins form the same seller. it was two days before payday for me or I would have bid hard on that coin ( could only do about 39 bucks with shipping.. went for 46...should have broke credit card maybe), very cool coin...hadn't seen anything like it.
