The PNC thread made me think about these. Is anyone collecting these coins? Seems a bit overpriced from the mint at $14.95 for two quarters. However, I have noticed mintage down at 50,000 for some of these. Does anyone think these will actually have the same value in the future that the PNC items do?

While $14.95 is expensive for two coins, it's also a "low priced" item to pick up an a budget.

I really don't know if they will increase, or even hold their value, but I think the mint's price is way too high for that product. Of course, I think the mint's prices for practically everything are too high.

As I posted in the PNC section, US FDC's don't seem to have very much value to them. I know that there is a handful of collectors out there who collect them, but I think the supply is way higher than the demand and that is why they don't increase in value.

As a result, I wouldn't advise purchasing these from the Mint.

Well I started collecting them with the 1st in 1999 have them all and a couple extra I did not know I already had. The $14.95 starting this year is a bargain as they were $19.95.

Will they be worth something I sure hope for my kids or the grandkids as I think I have what 50 now at $ 19.95 each.

My thinking at the start is they have a rather low number so hope they are worth something in years. I must say I do agree and think they are way over priced at $ 19.95 and still at $14.95 but since I have them all have to get the last eight. I even bought nice 1st day cover albums that I have them stored in guess only time will tell.

I recently sold a few of the FDC's on ebay, the Mass 2000 one sold for $91.00 items number 160069790665.

There are a lot of collectors for FDC's just like the quarter spoons which are hard to find for some of the states.
