I have never seen another example on a canadian coin . This is a counterbrockage / brockage error .

It came from a Jeffery Hoare auction many years ago . At the time I paid a good price for it as I never saw anything like it then or since . It is locked away in my permanent collection - probably will never be for sale in my lifetime .

it would have occur if a partial brockage had remained on the upper die ( like a die cap )and struck the next blank entering . What makes this more interesting is that the partial brockage had to occur on the lower die side and not the normal upper die side . I've attached a picture of a normal partial brockage for you can conceptialize it better . Remember it would be "reversed" for this error

Very cool coin!! I had to do a double take there, with the stretching out of the obverse portrait, for a second there, I thought I was looking at the hairline of George VI!! Thanks for sharing!!

Wow, this coin made me go "Ooo!".

SPP: I, too, thought it was George VI! But then the hair ribbon is visible.

errorone2012: I'll give you Two Cents for it. It's a good deal. Take it.
