I honestly have no idea how most will react to this thread. If you understood my situation better you may not think me so crazy.

My brother used to call asking for loans. I don't do loans to family any more. So now he called asking if I had any odd jobs he could do. After some thought, I decided to let him take all my cents that have been searched and dump them for me. Dump banks have been hard to come by lately. I offered him 15% and any fees that he paid were coming out of his pocket. (No, I wouldn't offer that to non-family)He calls me the next day with $669. He took them to his bank and they took all 27 boxes of lose cents at once and processed them while he waited. Didn't charge him a fee. His bank is about 30 minutes away but I would consider creating an account if I could save a few hundred cents and get them cashed for free in one transaction. I hope that didn't mess things up for another roll hunter in his area...didn't think about that.

Did you separate out the copper ? That's a good amount of pennies.

I pulled copper on maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the boxes. The copper rate that I'm getting isn't that great. I've never collected the exact % for a box but I generally run 8 to 12 per roll. I see people talking about 25 to 30% copper rate and I doubt I've ever had a box like that.

I usually start out counting rolls and if I'm averaging 10 or so, I'll pull copper. If not, I just pull the collectables.

I don't think that's too crazy. His bank may have issues with him if he tries it again next week.

That's too bad your numbers are so low. I thought it was a bad week when the rate went below 27%. This was about a year ago, so maybe rates have lowered in that time.

Depending on where you are M0nks, I would have to say the % is probably still around 25-28%. Unless you have bad luck and get some of those skunk zinc boxes that seem to be going around.
