I thought for a while if I should post this here or in the TGP section. I think it is more appropriate here, as I am sure it will be seen by more people, and kind of a general topic. So my question is this: I was just about to join the PCGS Collectors Club, as you need to be a member of it, or submit through an authorized dealer, as I am sure you are aware. Does anyone know, or would you be interested in knowing if PCGS would partner with coincommunity? It has been joked about in other threads that the coincommunity should start its own private bank LOL.., and I know that ANA recognizes us as a club--would PCGS recognize us as an "authorized dealer", allowing members the option to join in as a coop? Just a thought, sorry if it's already been discussed, or sounds silly to some.

I highly doubt they would. Anyone could just claim to have posted on the board and wouldnt have to join anymore. Way to much could go wrong.
As nice as it would be to get in on bulk submissions, PCGS would lose a ton of money at the end of the day when they have to ship back 100 different coins to 100 different addresses and hope they got them all right

Doesn't need to be the case! It could work much like any other online coupon code, where you have the option to join under a group rate much like great collections offers discount grading for those selling coins with them to be TPG'd. Not saying suggest they offer huge discounts, or even anything like free shipping etc. just simply a way to submit with CoinCommunity membership being the "authorized dealer" and if you so choose to buy in the member is responsible for everything. I think personally it's a win win... Why wouldn't a TPG want to grow their business?

No, a forumn should remain as a forum. Just look at PCGS and NGC forums - a place for "elites". Either you have something worth something hefty or you might as well get a blank response. If this forum is to go on that direction, no reason why I should stay.

gx, I think you misunderstood the gist of what it is I am saying, I'm sorry :-/ I am not suggesting anything of that sort. Simply think a perk to being a member of a community. i.e., American Express is the card, membership rewards is their loyalty program to "GIVE BACK". Simply said, a discount rate to submissions with TPG's! Sorry if I offended you, and I for one, personally think you should stay LOL... I don't want anyone leaving over my ideas! HAHAHA!

Most of us are already members on our own so they would lose out on the yearly fees. I mean when you think about it if for no other reason they would never do it because every submission would have a different address which would make their life much more difficult. They already have a ton of submissions without having to find individual addresses and do the shipping by hand instead of letting a computer just print out labels with address for the member id. The only reason stores get discounts or special treatment is the bulk amounts they send in. We could put together a bulk order but they would deem it not worth the effort when every coin has a different address to be returned too and it gets rid of the added value of the bulk shipment for them. Only way it would ever be remotely possible would be for ccf to set up one address for everything to get shipped too and then have someone ship out everything where it needs to go from there

It's just not the shipping logistics that graders have to worry. If the coins come from a reputable dealer, chances are he / she would have filtered a lot of problem coins especially counterfeits, cleaned and so forth.
This however has become more difficult recently with higher quality counterfeits floating around.
