Just Carl I totally agree that we are at the mercy of the banks, and I try very hard to remain in their good graces. I think it helps to use banks that you've known and are making use of their other services (loans, line of credit, etc.). I have not been considering my actions in terms of the CRHing community at large. I really just focus on maintaining the status quo (establishing and maintaining supply/return banks) without creating too much noise doing so...

I also believe that copper sorting makes very little sense (figuratively and literally) at the small level. Why spend time, energy and money sorting 1 box a week. There is a set amount of copper in circulation, and that number is dropping each year. Companies are sprouting up all over the country along with private investors (large and small) all working to cull out copper cents. I probably would have had problems with orders/returns had there been penny sorters in my area.

Papatony, those are some great finds. I never found a 1999 WAM. Also what is so great about the a lot of 1974 P & D that you find?

Also I reroll all dump coins and take them back in a full box and just trade them for a new one. They seem to appreciate that. All those that get so many coins I can understand not rolling them though.lol.

And that rerolled system is slowly backfiring too. Many banks have been hit with the short rolls from people. Doesn't sould like a lot but one or two coins short per roll starts to add up. And a bank that just passes on those rolls to other customers finds they are getting complaints from legitamate customers that use them in a buisness.
As I mentioned in some places, like by me, rolled coins taken to a bank are sent out for counting and if in rolls, there is an extra charge.
