No, IMO it's an AU50/55 at best. Great Southern usually doctors (lighting tricks?) up their images very well...I fell for them twice, luckily got my money back with no hassle.

IMHO, it's a VF-35. There's a good deal of wear on high points. And, where's the Brilliance, as in BU++? IMHO, a searchlight couldn't add brilliance to this coin's pic.

It's good to know that this seller honors "no hassle" returns.

Surely, this coin MUST have been BU++ when it first left the Mint. Was it?

I have no idea why the Mint would want to issue pre worn coins.

Maybe the mint used an extremely abrasive bag. Nice coin, but not BU.

It's a decent AU-55, lightly circulated but definitely not BU nor worth what the buyer paid for it. Retail on it would be in the $75-80 range.

Compare the subject coin to this ANACS AU-50:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1864-Two-Ce...t_500wt_1202

Perhaps ANACS net graded this one? Regardless, wear is quite evident on the leaves.

Notice the difference in the sharpness of WE and the stems in the leaves. I really fail to see how the majority see the subject coin as being AU? Guess that I do need to get my prescription updated and start grading my coins more liberally!
