Is this even legitimate or is it just some guy from Russia with a scanner and lots of free time?

Some guy in Russia with a scanner - not exactly legal to sell copyrighted material. I just reported him.

Needless to say, ebay did nothing to stop this guy's auctions. So I shot an email over the the folks at Krause Publishing. The next day these DVDs mysteriously disappeared from ebay. Too bad.

On another forum there's this guy that sells catalogues' scanned versions on CDs.

The sad thing is people actually buy these.

Seriously, it isn't fun to carry around some telephone book directory all the time. Krause has currently an online version for trial, but it's not for free appearently.
