petiskaThe coin shown is a 1673 1/3 Thaler struck in Pomerania a German State (Dutchy) on the Baltic sea in what is now Poland. If it is real, it should be silver. It is a very scarce issue and could be worth a substantial amount - upwards of $200.
You should check closely for the presence of evidence of casting. Is there an edge seam? Is the surface rough like a cast copy or does it appear struck.
The die work on the Portrait looks excellent but I am slightly skeptical about the reverse - the die work seems crude and incomplete. This could be the result of a transfer process or just a worn die.
Many of these issues were struck on roller presses so the uneven strike looks good to me.
Nice coin either way - very attractive.
A third Party grader like ANACS would be adequate for the coin.
