Has anyone had this problem? I was emailed by the customer that he had not received a coin. It was sent with delivery confirmation. The postage was printed via ebay. The post office confirmed delivery. The customer opened a case because he did not know what else to do. ebay reversed the charges!! I am calling to complain. I will update end result. |

Never had the problem before and the first time I did have that problem if thats how ebay wants to handle it it would be the last time I ever use ebay as a buyer or seller. Theres gotta be more to this story, usually as long as you have the tracking confirming that it was delivered ebay leaves it alone |

I understand your skepticism basebal21, but that is essentially it. The buyer even sent me an email telling me he knew I had mailed it, the post office told him they delivered it, and he opened a case because he didn't know what else to do.
It was a $10 coin, but what if it was a $250 coin?
Looking for alternative avenues to sell my unwanted coins.
I will list some on here once I have enough comments.

Happy update!!...and my apologies. ebay refunded the buyer, but not with my money! I read the email incorrectly. I feel really bad about this. I totally overreacted. So, the buyer never got his coin, but got his money back. I get to keep my payment, and no marks against me. ebay did right, and I was totally wrong. Sorry everyone. |

Delivery Confirmation is a pretty good idea on just about anything of value. But...from what I understand, the delivery person scans the item and puts it in their satchel for "delivery" on this particular run. Does it go to the intended address? Usually. However I have had stuff delivered to a next door neighbor or someone a street over (I live on Monte Place but there is a Monte Drive one block over...no, there is no Monte Hall  ...that I am aware of) unintentionally. Would you still be able to claim the merchandise if this is sent to another address but is confirmed as "delivered"? I don't know...and I hope not to find out personally. Edited by oih82w8

We live on a court and the next court down has the houses numbered exactly the same for some reason so sometimes the next morning ill see a package in the mail box that I know went to the wrong court or get a package that was supposed to go to them |

WOW, so ebay took the hit? That is surprising. I'd think they'd either say that delivery conformation is enuff and not do anything for the buyer, or rule it isn't and make you refund. I guess for cheap items they just eat it themselves? Interesting! |

I don't know what the customary USPS-approved procedure is but my mailman scans the items right before he puts it in my mailbox. I have had items shown as "Delivered" long before the item actually hits my mailbox, so I guess different mailmen use different procedures. |

I've had this happen to me twice....as a buyer. The item shows confirm of delivery but I did not receive it. The issue is of fob shipping or delivery point. That is who is responsible for the package once it is dropped in the mail. Frankly why not charge the extra $ for sig confirm. That is the only real way to prove it arrived.

That's why I always use tracking. It's sucks to pay 75 cents on a $10 sale, but it's worth the peace of mind! Gotta maintain than seller rating too! That's vital to ebay. |

A lot of times companies will scan the package so it says that it is delivered by the date which it should be but then doesn't deliver it for another few days. They do this to avoid conflicts with the seller and them saying "I PAID FOR 2 DAY SHIPPING BUT IT WASN'T DELIVERED". UPS or Fedex will say "Well it says it was delivered doesn't it?" I have had this happen a few times with USPS also
