Hi,
Does anyone know if teller flicks in paper notes will eventually come out, if stored flat for years ? I don't want to press my notes, just wondering if there is anyway to remove very light tellers flicks in notes without harming them ?

BankNoteLover- If you store them flat they may become less visible but they will never completely go away. Be careful though, if they aren't lithographed notes (that don't have embossing) they will lose some of their embossing if you use too much pressure.
It is better to have an original note that has a little bit of handling than to have a pressed note. You can still have a CU note that is original and has handling but a note that has been artificially tampered with cannot have an original grade above above CU 65. (From a technical stand point, the way that I understand it.)

Is it a world note?

Hi Coinchick
My thoughts are same as yrs. I thought they would never go away. They are Australian notes and do have 'raised' inks, is it called intaglio printing? I think..
I prefer them original, hence why I didnt try to press them out...was just curious if they would hopefully fade away lol

I do believe that is itaglio is the right term for that. I completely agree with you, I prefer my notes original. I can't say that I've seen an Australian note. Is it a newer one? What part of Australia do you live in?

I don't really collect anything right now. I'm a dealer so I get to see a lot and I don't really feel the need to collect. I love older issue American stuff. Treasury and older silver certs are my favorite. I would like to learn more about world issues but I'm not sure where to start. I live in Ohio. :)
