I opened an account at a new bank two weeks ago. I went into a different branch today on my way home from work to get some coin. I ask the teller if he has any hand wrapped rolls of quarters, he asks what I mean, I tell him but he says no. I ask him if I can buy a box then he say he doesn't have a box. So I ask how much he can give me? he says I can give you a tray. I say good deal I'll take it. I ask if he can sell me some dimes. he says I can do a tray of those too. Then he says I have hand wrapped nickels and pennies. I say I'll take them. Then he asks if I want these

I may have started salivating before I said yes I'll take them. Free tubes are always nice even though I can tell there is no silver in them. Then he asks what I am going to do with all that and asks me if I am looking for silver. I say I'm looking for anything interesting to fill my coin books. He than asks if I want the halfs and large dollars he has. He puts them up on the counter $4 Ike dollars and $7 in halfs. I can see no silver so I say I'll take the Ikes and I'm not sure what to do with the halfs. He says come on you love half dollars. I can tell he wants to get rid of them so I take them from him too. Then he asks if I want the $2 bills he has $224.00. I tell him no but thanks for asking. On the way out he says good luck and remember where you got them if you find anything good. What a nice teller.

That beats my story, but I'm going to tell it anyway:

Yesterday, I stopped by my bank to make a deposit. I'm trying to finish up a Jefferson album and only needed two from 2004 - no big deal. I had a P mint mark with Peace Pipes and a D mint mark with Keel Boat. I carry a spare P Peace Pipes and a spare D Keel Boat to show tellers what I'm looking for (just the other mint mark). Anyway, asked if she had any of the Peace Pipe or Keel Boat varieties and she had a Keel Boat - that was it! Bummer, but when I got home I saw it was the mint mark I needed (P). So now all I need is a D mint mark Peace Pipes to complete my Jeffs. Today I was out with my son but when I got back there was a message on my answering machine. The teller found one of the nickles with "golf clubs" on the back and was going to hold it for me! She had to look up my home phone number from the account because I have had an unlisted number for over 35 years. That's a pretty good teller!
