I'm a cashier and I look through every bill that comes through my hands, I have only seen one 2001 one dollar bill which I'm holding on to, is this just coincidence, did they print very few, or something?

From the heading on the page: "The numbers in the table are the first and last notes printed in the given month for the given FRB."

So the table shows the date printed for the various FRB's and the serial range printed. And also gives the same info for the star notes printed.

This gave me the inspiration to head to http://www.uspapermoney.info for some stats. I made a list of printage figures of $1 bills by series (excluding stars, I think).

Series: printed
1977: 4.2 Billion
1977A: 3.3 Billion
1981: 5.5 Billion
1981A: 3.7 Billion
1985: 10.8 Billion
1988: 4.0 Billion
1988A: 15.1 Billion
1993: 4.6 Billion
1995: 18.6 Billion
1999: 10.1 Billion
2001: 4.9 Billion
2003: 7.2 Billion
2003A: 7.8 Billion
2006: 9.6 Billion

So, since Series 1977, 2001 has the sixth least printage.
