Found some 50's and 60's cash in an envelope in my garage last night, and I'm posting dates and numbers to see if anyone would know if they're worth anything. Only have one Silver Cert $1 bill but heres the list: $20 bills; 1950 D Series I34997246A with a 9 on the left 1963 A Series G03747903A with a 7 on the left $10 bills; 1963 A Series I08803277A with a 9 on the left 1963 A Series I07060819A with a 9 on the left 1950 D Series G27005331 with a Star? and a 7 on the left 1950 D Series G92951421G with a 7 on the left 1950 C Series G97993563F with a 7 on the left 1963 no mint G04191844A with a 7 on the left $5 bills; 1963 A Series I19615615A with a 9 on the left 1950 E Series G43401758E with a 7 on the left 1963 A Series I02123316A with a 9 on the left and I have 12 $1 bills which are 1963 No Mints I have no clue about old notes so I don't know if they're valuable, or if they're barely worth their face All I know is they're in near perfect condition, guessing they've been in that envelope for 40, 50 years or so. Pics of certain bills upon request.

I can try and give the prices from my small currency price guide. Book prices are high and most bills can be purchased for less, sometimes much less. One other thing, the number and letter in the seal .. and start of SN, associates the bill to which of the 12 banks they are shipped to "I/9" is for Minneapolis, "G/7" is for Chicago .. This is for FRN's of course condition can also affect the price 20 bills; 1950 D Series I34997246A with 9 VF $40/CH CU $1251963 A Series G03747903A with 7 CH CU $40 $10 bills; 1963 A Series I08803277A with 9 CH CU $451963 A Series I07060819A with 9 CH CU $451950 D Series G27005331 with Star? and 7 CH CU $1501950 D Series G92951421G with 7 CH CU $401950 C Series G97993563F with 7 CH CU $401963 no mint G04191844A with 7 CH CU $50Not sure what you mean no mint$5 bills; 1963 A Series I19615615A with 9 CH CU $251950 E Series G43401758E with 7 CH CU $751963 A Series I02123316A with 9 CH CU $25and I have 12 $1 bills which are 1963 No Mints IMO the book prices are very high .. but could look on ebnay and see what they are selling for

okay .. I got confused .. minted are for coins, bills are printed. There are two print facilites one in Washington DC and one in Fort Worth Texas.
For the letter after the year. A new letter will be added each time there is a minor change to the bill. In most cases (maybe all, I am not sure) the change is the signature. For example, the series of 1963, one dollar federal reserve note, was printed between 1963 and 1969. The 1963 note (no letter, some call plain) was sign by Granahan and Dillon, when Fowler took over for Dillon, the new notes, 1963 A were signed by Granahan and Fowler. In late 1968 Fowler left the job and President Johnson appointed Barr, which give us the 1963 B note with Granahan and Barr signatures.
I have to do some more reading to figure out what causes the series to change. I do not know what change was made to make the notes go from a 1963 to a 1969 to a 1974 ...
You did not say which of the 12 banks your one dollar notes were issued to, but most of them book value at $5.00 in CH CU.
CH CU is choice crisp uncirculated.
I hope this helps some .. I am not a expert, I just have been trying to learn more about currency lately.

congrats on the 1950E $5 dollar bill. it is considered the hardest series year to get. what do you plan on doing with these bills?

Honestly, if someone on here is collecting them, I am willing to sell them. Otherwise was just going to release them into the wild circulation But, I don't want to do that, especially if someone on here maybe is looking for one of these bills to fill a collection. I'll try to help them out.

I'll consider buying some. (emphasis on "consider", though.. not sure how the impending savings-panic of coming college doom will play out xp lol)
Could I request pics of the $10 1950-D star note, and the $5 1950-E, please?
Edit: Or do all sales have to conducted through the Auctions thread (mods?)?

not sure what the rules are for you to buy sell or trade on here . I think it is 250 post to sell .
It may be less to trade .. I have been looking for a 1950's series $20.00 for one of my collections .. if you have enough post and your interested .. we could maybe work a trade out

All the $1 bills are stamped with Minneapolis, except for one from Chicago. Will have pics up very soon of the $20, $10 and $5 mentioned before.

Silver.
Is this ok to be doing? I know I don't have 250 posts but, I don't need these bills and would really like to sell them to someone who collects so.

Quote: You must have at least 50 posts and have been a member for at least 14 days to post a want list. You must have at least 250 posts and have been a member for at least 90 days to respond to a want list I think you can post a want list .. of something you would like to trade .. I think you can not sell until you have 250 post. if there is something you like to collect .. seem like that would be your best bet. If you trade for silver it can be sold pretty easy.

I'll try that.... What do you think a good price would be for the 1950 E series $5 bill? It is in very good shape with no creasing and still has good "crispiness?" to it....
BTW, I'd trade for practically any silver (for the value) so, it wouldn't be right I think to post in the Want List forum, to trade.
Would be kind of going around their policies lol

Yes, I almost posted a "Want List" with trade in the description but, I thought real hard and that would be against the rules technically. I like this forum a lot so, I would hate to get booted.
