It isn't the best one around, but I'm thinking of buying this coin to fill a hole in my dansco album. Is the coin on the left a large 18 small 40? To my untrained eye it is. It was just advertised as a regular old 1840.

Tough to say from pic but it does look like the small date over large 18 to me.

with amida - tough to tell but here is a PCGS 65 to compare. The top of the 8 appears to be in line with the top of the 40 and the bottom of the 1 in line with the bottom of the 40.

It does look like a large over small overdate. It's been a while since I've seen one.

Bid $33. Went for $34.

Hopefully I'll find another.
