Is This A Small Date Large 18 1840 Large Cent?

Is the coin on the left a large 18 small 40? To my untrained eye it is. It was just advertised as a regular old 1840. Report this Post to the Staff

jeffrose Pillar of the Community United States 1432 Posts	Posted 07/16/2012 10:48 am with amida - tough to tell but here is a PCGS 65 to compare. The top of the 8 appears to be in line with the top of the 40 and the bottom of the 1 in line with the bottom of the 40. Report this Post to the Staff
