Hard to tell from the photo if the coin has been cleaned. Grade is in the VF-35 or EF-40 range.

My first impression was VF-35 details, cleaned.

Really what would I look for to see if it was cleaned or can you just tell from the color thanks again

I'm just getting into this, but what I'm beginning to notice on the cleaned coins are areas like the obverse R and B on pluribus.... where the dirt that does exist seems way to heavy to be just by itself....

Cleaned coins are usually bright but do not have the natural looking cartwheel luster. In hand you can usually tell by the color, hairline scratches and like you said dirt missing from where you would expect to find it. Over time looking at original coins you will get an eye for picking out the cleaned pieces much easier.

That's true its ok I only paid 20 bucks for it. I also got a bunch of wheat cents a variety from 39-48 and I noticed they where all the same un calculated look but not that shine that un-circulated coins have. Ill take a pic of one and post it in another thread and let me know what y'all think.
