Hello,

i just found a Thai 10 Baht while cleaning my room :D

Here is a picture from it:

I did some research and found a website which displays 63 (!) different types of 10 Baht coins.
But they do not know the one that I have.

Did anybody see this one before or has more information about it?

Best regards,
David

The date on the coin is 2553, which converts to AD 2010 - so I suspect the coin is simply too new to be found in most reference sites or catalogues. The Krause catalogue only goes up to 2009 at the moment, for instance. But here's one on en.numista.com.

Welcome to the forum, David!

A lot of countries nowadays mint circulation commemorative coins that change every year. That would explain the variety of types you found.

Thanks for the answer, and the link.

I already supposed that I get an answer like "too mew".
First I was hoping to hear "wow, super rare and valuable" haha, because it looked not very new.

Thanks for the information :)

This coin commemorates 120 years of the Comptroller General's Department. You can see the '120' in Thai numerals at between 9 and 10 o'clock.
The obverse shows King Rama V (who founded the Department) as well as the current king.

I would also assume that one might find a lot of 10 Baht coins in Europe because of the proximity in size to the 2 Euro coin.

And welcome to the family, EorDavid.
