Earlier today I had posted about buying a large quantity of silver from someone off craigslist for a good price, and I was going through it now and one of the Peace dollars that I payed 21$ for is a 1928 (no mintmark to be seen) and on ebay I see some of them going for 200-300$. Is this how much they usually go for? I dont know much about these Peace dollars but I will post some pics soon.

Thanks!

Are you sure it's a 1928 and not a 1923, as the "3" is a closed type 3 and at quick glance can look like a 8...

That's an easy mistake. They look a lot alike except under magnification.

I was pretty excited haha and then I went back to look at the date for sure and saw it was a 23, yeah they look so very similar because of the way the 3 curves in so much.

I have made that mistake before to, the 23 looks almost identical to the 28.
