Back when I was a young collector in the late 70s, I used to trade Morgans for large cents. When I told my grandmother about trading dollars for pennies, she called me something in Yiddish that I probably can't post on this forum. Well I just compared entries from my 1976 and 2013 redbooks. A typical Morgan and a typical large cent were both around $7.50 back then. Now, the Morgan is about $35 and the large cent about $25.

Silver coins tend to fluctuate more-so with the change in silver prices. Large coppers, I believe, have been more steady.

Eb and flow of numismatics I reckon.

Large cents are way cooler. The only thing to do with Morgans is melt them, right?

Large cents are probably much scarcer in general than Morgans and I think they're the better collectible. There are just a lot more Morgan collectors out there!

Large cents are awesome! I want to get one, but haven't got to yet. I missed an opportunity a few months ago, there were some for $3 each in a coin magazine......

large cents do look way better than the morgans but silver is still silver (most of the time anyway)
