Hi everyone, I got these as part of a lot today. Although I believe that these are fairly common coins (since three of the four seem to be Constantius II bronzes), I am not certain as to the mints as well as the RIC numbers. Any help would be appreciated!

Also, I forgot to mention in my original post that I believe the fourth coin to be of the Gallic Empire. However, I am not certain as to emperor or the mint.

The last is Laetitia Avg of Tetricus I. All the others are Trier mint (TR in the mintmark). The first is Constans as Augustus, second Constantius II as Caesar and the third Constantius II as Augustus. I'm a bit less than 100% certain on that last one but I believe it is right. All the Trier coins appear to have been butchered by cleaning in the same manner so I suspect they were found together.

dougsmit- Thanks for the input! It really helps. Yes, they have been a bit harshyly cleaned, but they look better in hand. Right now I have them soaking in some olive oil in order to darken their surfaces a bit.

Regarding the last coin, do you have any guesses as to the mint mark? Might it also be Trier?

If it is indeed Tetricus I, I think it likely to have been struck at the Cologne mint, but I think all you can say for relative certainty is that it was struck at a Gallic mint.

Hello Archraz,
Have a look at this specialised page on the Gallic Empire coinage: http://www.gallic-empire.com/tetric...complete.htm
"Mint II" is understood to be Trier.

Hi Archraz,

Nice coins, I've been cleaning Roman coins for 6 mts., some come out better than others.
I feel that if you leave your coins to long in olive oil, it will bring them down to bare metal. They look like they may be close.......just saying...

Eng5858- Well, I don't plan on leaving them in that long. I have actually found that a short time in olive oil or even a time in hydrogen peroxide can cause a burnt coin to regain some darker color.
