I'm willing to buy it from someone, so he sent me pictures of the coin.
Some jewelry worker told him that the coin does not have a purity of 0.986, instead, it's a 14k. Perhaps the worker lied in order to buy the coin at a very low price.

The owner of the coin also told me that parts of the coin slowly went "from yellowish to greyish" and he thinks that the coin oxidized. As far as I know, gold does not oxidize.

If it's a forgery, it's should be quite "uncirculated", but there are visible traces of wear. The hole in the coin has no implication on the value.

About his coin's weight and dimension... he'll tell me today/tomorrow. I believe that will be crucial to find out if it's forgery or not. Yet, since I'm willing to buy this coin, I'm asking you for an opinion.

Thank You in advance.

Your reverse photo is awful, far too bad to see anything useful.

In Britain there are a lot of such coins, many cast by jewellers (or jewellery suppliers) for suspension on a chain, and I've seen 9 and 14 karat versions.

They're often lightly worm and I suppose that's from people rubbing them and possibly rubbing against clothing.

As the coins themselves were trade coins, it's possible that they might see wear from being traded.

Don't bother with this coin. Yellow to gray means the coin is gold layered over a debased alloy or it may be worse such as brass over a debased alloy. It's not 14K with this color scheme - no doubt. 14K means a pure mixture with no different color schemes seen on the surface. The weight of the coin could possibly tell you if its gold or brass layered but the debased alloy may have lead bringing the weight up disrupting this thinking scheme. Personally I do not bother with world contemporaries past 1825 unless their Spanish Escudos of brass, gold or platinum of the 19thC. Let it go ...
