I'm a little confused about this coin. I initially confused the descriptions with reeded edge and then thought I might have been duped, but then found some references out there. But I still don't quite understand what is meant by 'beaded' edge.

Tjmcman - don't let semantics confuse you. Only two major edge types in 1836 half dollars, lettered or reeded, the latter regarded as a rarity. As mentioned here already, the "beaded" reference concerns the shape of dentils at the border of obverse or reverse. The coin you are considering is most likely a lettered edge variety.
