In that case, Roma is definitely allowed.

Hmmm, I think I might have a coin with a female protagonist soaking. Better bust out my toothbrush and go to work. Nice coins so far, really nice.

I decided against the personifications of either Roma or Constantinopolis. The question of why they appear so masculine on commemorative issues is a subject for another topic pehaps. For this show I have picked these two Ladies from my humble collection. #1 Persephone... Kyzikos, Mysia AE 17, 4.9g #2 Tanit... Zeugitana, Carthage AE 21, 8.2g

"bring in the young boy!!" "Sorry sir, but we're all out of young boys" "wha? ... huh, well bring me that old lady then ... the one that looks a bit like a wooly sheep" "right away sir ... excellent choice!!"

Thanks a lot stevex6. Yes, do have a good time.
Haha, alright guys let's return to the topic.
Lots of great coins coming in. That brings us to 15 coin entries. Keep them coming! Remember the entry deadline is tomorrow at 10 PM EST -4:00 GMT.
Doucet: Nice coins. I like that Carthage issue with the horse reverse. Do you know more about that coin? I might be interested in locating one in the future. Unless it's really rare.

I'm not Doucet but that Carthage type is one of several versions that are relatively common. In addition to the full horse there are some nice ones that have just the horse head and, for you rich guys, they come in silver, electrum and gold. I'd say decent ones range from $50 to $15000 so you can find the one that fits.

Doug said just what I was going to say (with much more finesse).
If you put in Tanit Carthage in Acsearch you will see the whole range. For some reason Carthage did not feel the need to have a great number of types and the Tanit Horse types were used for the best gold coins down to the lesser bronze coins.
I just missed an auction of one like Doug shows here for about 40.00 and there were a few other that sold for about 35-40 dollars. You just have to keep an eye out for a good one for a good price. I will eventually get one with just the Horse Head for my small Carthage collection.
If anyone wants to gift me a gold one (say 20-25,000) I will consider accepting.

That Zeugitana Carthage horse head reverse is another coin I'm going to add to my list that I want in the future. I assume the obverse is also of Tanit?
I just looked those coins up price-wise and found out that generally, the full horse reverse is less expensive than the horse head reverse.
