In watching the entrants for the newest Smackdown, I saw the coin Ancientnoob posted and thought it looked similar to one of mine. It is NOT a die match, as there are too many differences. However, the facial characteristics of the portrait looks eerily the same. If these two dies were not cut by the same die-maker, one was trained by the other or they both learned from the same person. What are your thoughts?

Same-Die-Maker?
(I lightened your image a bit. I hope you don't mind)

Yep. The jaw lines are almost identical and the eyes, nose and mouth are treated in a very similar way.

Their both from the same mint and officina. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same guy.
To bad we can't go back and see for sure, eh.

One could argue different die, same hand. Astounding. * YAY !! 100th POST *

I don't even know what to say I must be in some kind of shock. I mean look he even engraved his gamma the same way. The shape and Relative size of the letters, I wonder if someone who had knowledge of Autographs and handwriting could tell us with certainty? It might actually be worth investigating.

@JW did you get my email?

Thats awesome! Thousands of years and the guy finally gets noticed.

Could collect by Die carver...now that would be a challenge. See how many dies you can find by the guy.

Lets not forget to compare exact weight and size... 2.75g and a hair over 19mm. Same denomination?

Mine is slightly heavier at 3.32g, but size is the same at 19mm.

Glad you all agree there are similarities. When I first saw Anoob's coin, I took a double take thinking it was my coin. But, of course, further examination revealed the differences. I almost entered this coin in the Smackdown. My wife think's it is one of my better Constantine I coins. Nice coin Anoob.
