Hi Folks,

I am VERY new to coin collecting, having recently inherited my father-in-law's collection (he actually left it to my son).

After receiving some expert advice from some members in a previous post, I am attempting to sort and "catalogue" all of the loose coinns, mint sets, other sets, and and old "binder" full of older coins.

I thought I would tackle the easiest items first. The following are mint sets I have:

1978 - penny, nickle, dime, quarter, fifty cent, two silver dollars
1979 - same
1986 - same

1984 - penny, nicle, dime, quarter, fifty cent, one silver dollar
1986 - same

I also have a complete set of Confederation quarters (1867-1992) in a plastic sleeve.

Finally, I have a Canadian dollar that says "Winnipeg 1874-1974". It is in a small box with a Canadian flag stamped on the outside, and inside it mentions something about the City of Winnipeg.

Thanks for reading my long post.

The double dollar sets go for $15-$20
The single dollar sets(the dollar is nickel in these)and the quarter set go for about $7
There is not much demand for any of these at the moment.

Thanks very much. I didn't know there was such a thing as a dollar made of nickel. The more knowledge I acquire, the more comfortable I am beginning to feel. I will now start tackling the older, not so simple stuff.

Thanks again.
