Nice that you found some coins you like ..

I do find it a little funny .. last week I took about $100 face to the bank
all BU and Proof coins from mint and proof sets I broke open. Not sure how many
IKE's there were maybe 30 ..

Seems like every bank I go to in and near Syracuse has "a guy who looks through rolls",
so I don't bother. Nice score for you, congrats

For me they are hard to sell and make any profit.
Which means it is not really worth the effort.

Most everything I try to sell on here .. I get messages to see if I will take less .. and then with shipping a couple times I have lost money in the transaction.

I break the proof sets open at the coin shop I help out at.
Sometimes I do keep the Ikes if they look nice or I don't have any other coins to purchase .. I think I have about 100 Ike's plus a full dansco album

Wow indeed! I was expecting some "impaired proofs". Good for you!

To upstate, it is true, most banks have coin collecting regulars. It's all about the luck of the day! I will be moving to the seneca falls area soon. Maybe there will be better? All I know for sure is I will be farther from the city, and therefore farther from the volume of banks. Hopefully the quality there beats the quantity here! What area are you in, if I might ask?

South of Syracuse by all the apple orchards, west of Lafayette.
Hessney auction house has some decent coin auctions about once a month in Geneva,
just down the road from Seneca falls, check them out. Next one is Aug 11.
My wife and I usually go in the spring and fall before bow season.

wow, that sounds like fun! It would be about an hour or so drive from me, but my relatives live out there. It would be a good excuse for a visit!
