Found this roll hunting. I haven't seen any shield cents with that little ridge at the bottom.

if this is an error..does it have a name or value?

It's normal die wear; very common. On shield cents I see it more often on Denver issues; they seem to be pushing their dies longer than Philly for cents in recent years.

I am not aware of any premium for this coin or it being an error. But then again I an no expert, just my observation having seen these before.
