Anyone have any information about this, like an approximate number of how many were made?
Is there some name that's used to refer to it? The only references I've been able to find to it are in a thread here on world mules and in my Collectors' Coins GB which values it at £450.

Has anyone even seen or heard of this coin outside of the catalogue?

I'd be interested in obtaining one, but I'm also genuinely curious about how many were made.

Looks like your catalogue will be your only reference for this - You should write to the mint responsible and ask them for figures.

All good, the thing to look for is the text around the Queen's portrait. It should be in English as it is on your example, but on the coin in question the text is in Latin.

I haven't been able to find out, but I wouldn't be surprised if that one was the only one.
