Hey folks, I can't seem to find any good poundage lots of world coins nowadays on ebay, all of which on there seem "recycled" lol. I bought $3/lb lots from a guy who buys them from ebay and searches them but they never yield anything good. Do any of you guys know of a good source of world coin poundage? Thanks.

If you have coin shops, antique shops or second hand shops near you ask them. I have made my best purchases via that kind of shops. They don't have time or knowledge to search all those foreign lots so you can find silver or scarce dates from them.

Its much of a you get what you pay for thing. I've known some very nice members who offer their doubles by the pound or so. I recommend you that too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WORLD-COINS...em3cc9129aaf

the seller is also a CCF forum member and his bulk lots are always above average. I'd get a quote on the postage, if I was you.

I would love to buy recycled lots for $3/pound. I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'yield anything good'. I'm just looking to add different types to my world collection so I have no issue with someone picking out the silver or whatever. I would be happy with more variety of common world coins to add to my collection. I have a 'want list' posted for bulk world at $4/pound. No bites.

Those seem like low prices nowadays. I think that with postage included lots are going in the $7/lb range.

I buy world coins for $15 per kilogram, locally.
On ebay, I'll bid upto $15/kg, after deucting the postage.
I don't win many auctions, but I'm happy with what I get.

About five years ago typical price per kilogram was 5 euro here when bought online. Now it has doubled + postage. The good thing is that you can always get your money off when selling the rest. When ! buy from a dealer I pay 9-12 euros/kg but some are asking even €30/kg.

Thanks very much for the responses, guys. I went ahead and bought 40 pounds of world coins @ $3. The only coin I found was a 2000 Reis Silver Coin from Brazil and high denomination coins of US$0.50 and higher. (100 Yens, Ecuador 50 Cents, Peru 2 Soles).
Anyways, I'm now thinking about visiting some laudromats and asking them if they have any world coins that I could buy. What do yall think about this, would it work? Please let me know.
Thanks,
