OK, so I am putting together proof issue Danscos for all the moderns. My Jefferson was the second one I started after the Kennedy. I am being very picky about what goes in these albums as I want them to be high grades (where affordable).

The other day I was perusing my albums and I realized I had a single hole in the first page of the album, 1948S. This really irked me. I mean the Kennedy album is down to like 12 coins left to go, first four pages complete, and my NICKEL book doesn't have a complete page? Off to ebay we go!

Do you know some guy wanted like 29 bucks for one of his? Granted it was a REALLY nice one, but 29? I dont think so. I finally found a high grade one for 5 bucks. Just got it today, so here is the complete first page.

I really wish I could figure out lighting, because the toned coins are gorgeous, and the top row all have great luster that for some reason went poof in the pic.

When I finish it off I will post pics of the entire thing and we can compare notes. :)
Shop around for the 50D. If you patient you can find a nice MS coin for under 20 bucks. I actually paid a lot more for my 42D (rainbow toned and full steps) than I did the 50D.

Looks like you are off to a good start on your Jefferson Dansco.

How long have you had your album?

I am curuious because I hear Dansco is going to split this series into
a two album set, with the split at 2006.

My album ends in either 2011 or 2012 .. have not looked at it lately.
I guess I will have to pick up a new album and start back at 2006 ..
if the information I am hearing is correct

Looks great, congratulations!
The 40D and the 48 look to have some really nice color to them from the pics. If you get that lighting figured out, I would love to see some more pictures.
Rest in Peace

Congrats on completing the first page. Looks like you have some real gems there. I have one more to go - the 39-D of course. Still looking for the right one with the right combination of digits to the left of the decimal point.

Thanks guys. :) the rest of the book is pretty close to done. I have had it for a year and a half now. 28 coins left to go over all.

The last page end at 2011, of which I need the 11D and 11S to finish off. I just need to find someone selling the proof and mint sets from 09-12 for a decent price so I can patch all the holes for my albums on their last poages. Hmmm, run on sentence there. LOL

Nice. My Jefferson Dansco is all MS+ and it looks great. I have many high end Jeffersons on my eCrater site.

NICE! I keep thinking that after I find my 09-S VDB to complete my Lincolns, I am going to finish the set that my dad started when he was a kid. He is a bit of an O.C.D. nut, I have 3 sets he completed at that time, one of which is INCREDIBLE. I thought it may be fun to trade the coins in set 2 and 3 for the more modern additions to set 1.

Let me go snap some photos of it.

joe, I love those old Library of Coins books. I have several from the collection I am selling that I am likely going to refill.

I know, they're really cool! I love the look of them too. It was actually this exact book that ignited my obsession with coins! Before I had ever seen a whitman or a dansco, I sat there for about an hour trying to figure out how they got in there!

I was convinced this company sold the book like this with them sealed in there HAHAHA!
