Picked this up off of ebay. I got such a good deal, I am wondering what I am missing. I think this coin looks great. I paid $70. Any opinions?

The photos are out of focus ... and 'dark' on the lower portions ... but from what I can see it appears to be a nice lustrous MS64 1935-S example of this classic silver commemorative.

Keep in mind this is one of the lowest priced classic silver commemorative coins in MS64 and lower. CDN 'bid' in MS64 is $82 ... so you most likely paid a fair price for a nice coin.

Can't argue with the best grading "eye" within the CCF Commemorative forum -- nickelsearcher is right on as usual!

It appears to be a nice coin, can't really find anything wrong with it.

Sorry about the focus issues. I think the field of focus is very narrow and centered just above the center of the coin. However, I'm still recovering from corrective eye surgery, so I may be having trouble seeing the problem.

I'm thrilled with the coin and it's one of my favorite of the classic commemorative designs. I think greysheet starts at about $70 in XF, but I don't recall for sure. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing some subtle polishing. This high points seem in good shape (corner of the tower, knees of Minerva (?)). The holder actually says "VF" on it. I'm hoping that's the reason other bidders stayed away from the coin.
Rest in Peace

Definitely better than VF. I think you really scored on this one.

Im always skeptical of raw coins like this from ebay but this is one of the cheaper commems like nickel said. For a 64 you paid about half price which isn't unheard of on ebay for a raw coin as a lot of bidders stay away from those.

I do agree though it is a great design and that one certainly has eye appeal
