One of the most frustrating things about my efforts to put together a circulating set of these coins is the utter lack of finding any circulating coins in any shape whatsoever. I have looked through almost $500 worth of quarters and haven't found one example of any of the last two and a half years of mintage for this series. I won't say that my collection efforts have not been a total wash out but lately it's been a positively desert here where I am at.
I was just curious if any of the others on this forum have been running into the same situation. If I totaled all the circulating coins that I have found for this series my combined total would be less than 200 coins total without finding a complete year set from either mint.

I've found six of them in change. A co-work had one in change from a pop machine. I'm in Idaho but I am not having much luck finding them.

Ive seen a handful of these at best. Never really thought to much about it but you are right they dont seem to be circulating, at least to me, as everything I seem to get is the State Quarters

I Seem to find 20-30 per $500.00 searched. not always uncirculated either most are prob uncirculated. 2-3 per will be dirty or gunked up with something.

I'm in va, right outside dc, and I find them pretty often. If I search a box of quarters, I can usually come away with at least a date set of ATB.

What are the mintages for these? I get the feeling they are a lot lower than the State Quarters and nowhere near as much interest by noncollectors as the State Quarters had.

I've found at least three complete 2010,2011 & 2012 up to chaco culture bu (D) sets in pocket change to date(west coast).

I have no idea what is going on with those. I never see any in change at all. I would think by now a few would be circulating but possibly a new wave of hoarders are appearing.

I would expect to find less ATB Quarters then State Quarters. When the State Quarters were out almost all of the banks carried them and handed out BU rolls to their customers with each issue. After the State Quarters stopped and the ATB Quarters came out only a handful of banks around me carried these and they were not saved in the quantities the State Quarters were saved. Now the State Quarter BU rolls don't carry a premium so as people are finding this out they are dumping them at the banks. This dumping is giving another round of State Quarters in circulation.

Yes I will agree with you ...lately its been slim pickings, not many quarters are keepers. I usually check them for errors and even that doesn't make a large pile to check.

Ghostrider, if you're interested in trading for ATBs, I find them quite commonly at work. Just tonight I found my first Acadia (in gorgeous condition, too) and a trade-up from a passable Chickasaw to a really gorgeous full-cartwheel Chickasaw. I have a post on this down in the trades section and would be happy to put together a set for you (I can't promise that it will contain all of the 2012 quarters, because even here they seem slow to circulate, but I get all of the 2010 and 2011's on a routine basis). I actually may have a set already prepared--HelzelsCoins was supposed to get a set from me, but seems to have either disappeared or lost interest.

I dont find many here in Kentucky in rolls, but I get them everyday out of the soda machine like its a dump place. very strange but I still pull them for my own stash.
