This Morgan is graded by NGC as MS64. When I purchased the coin, I did see that the MM looked like an OMM? As I looked closer, I found some other interesting 'oddities.' Can the VAM Meisters out there help me with what I am seeing on this coin?

Looks like S/S "Far Left," shared by VAMs 14, 15 and 18. No doubling is mentioned on the reverse for these; the plate images for VAM-15 show similar doubling but I'm not convinced it isn't Machine Doubling. Has that look. Gonna have to work with date doubling to possibly narrow it down, but information is scarce.

the most common doubling is: shelf doubling which is not a true die doubling error within the dies...such is yours
but it is a strong S/S mint mark doubling..I have not had time
to figure it out yet..

Sorry, I forgot to ask what the difference is between 'shelf doubling' and 'machine doubling.'

They both meant the same thing. A Machine Doubling have the same flat surface, or kind of a shelf-like look around the devices.

with SuperDave.

Check the date for doubling to discriminate between VAMs 14, 15 and 34 (not 18).

Any chance of a date closeup of the same resolution as the first detail images? Don't know if it will get us anywhere, but it's worth a shot.

Sure... I will take an up-close image with my USB microscope and post it for you.
