Another one that made me think ... there is something wrong.
Am I correct ?

Lima---8-Reales---1764-Jm---Fake-?
Lima---8-Reales---1764-Jm---Fake-?

What I didn't liked :
* irregular letters (LM on the left and right not similar for example)
* top right of the crown not looking like the top left
* bottom right of the shield strangely thin (those were made from master punches then if I remember well)
* The edge is blurry, but appears to be a bit thick
* Middle of the pillar side is missing details

What do you think about it ?
(I don't intend to bid on it, I'm just learning here)

Now that I'm at it, here are two other strange ones :

-> Patina, overall look, odd missing metal on one side.

-> strange strike and color, but ... could be due to harsh cleaning.

MathieuMa,
I see what you mean.

I know practically nothing about these 'dollars' but I'm going to look much more carefully in the future.

The 1818 looks like it was cast; is it really made of silver, I wonder ?

I would be weary of this coin.

The first coin posted seems to be genuine after all.
I've been contacted by the previous ebay winner (it was posted twice) - he returned the coin as it had been harshly cleaned.
But the overlaps on the edge were there, among other things.

The details I noted (irregularities) are strange - I thought master punches were used for the crown and the shield - among other parts ...
