Hi All,
I recovered Two Mass shillings in March,
Though little detail remains on this Oak,
I believe it can be attributed as a Noe-3
just by the 1:30 position of the N on date side (Obverse/Reverse?)
All other varieties I can find example photos of are in
the 7 or 11 o'clock position.
Any assistance would be appreciated!

Sorry I don;t know the answer to your question; I'm just bumping it to the top of the Classics page after I moved it.

Thanks SAP,
I figured since it was about 150 years earlier than the US mint,
I had it in the right forum.
It may get some more attention here!
Best wishes, Herbie

For oak tree shillings, the side with the date is considered the reverse. Your reverse seems to be the same as a Noe 3, so even though your obverse is difficult to distinguish, the Noe-3 reverse was used on that variety alone. Seems to be a positive identification.

I looked at all available online variety images and came to the same conclusion, Really wanted confirmation as all varieties did not have photos.
