I am looking at this dime for my 7070, and would like to hear what the CCF has to say about it in comparison to PCGS. Thanks! ...or should I stick with my original and have it reslabbed (previous seller cracked out an older ANACS slab, AU50, to put in his 7070 album)? Edited by oih82w8 07/31/2012 11:39 pm

Not the best photos to judge from. Can't really make out what is going on on the right side obverse field. Looks like scratches. Think I would go AU-50 details based on these photos.

Let me see if I can get some better ones, I was thinking the same after posting them. (back at the bat-cave) My skills are severely lacking with the original sellers images, the focus may have been on the slab insert label itself instead of the coin. My apologies for not being to post a quality image to assess your opinions on. Here is the whole slab without further delay;

Boy, they were tough on that one. It didn't even make an EF grade.

There is something about branch mint classic coins!

You don't see much detail left in the head of liberty. Typical distinction from VF to XF on Lib Seats are the ear, hair braid, eyelid, nose and mouth; those seem to be rubbed out from these pics. I cant tell if the strike on the stars is weak or if that is circulation wear. if the ladder, that explains as well, no? Same thoughts on the reverse, weak strike or wear on the laurel detail and lettering. From my experience, as short lived as it is but centered heavily on Liberty Seated coinage in my possession, I can see where they graded this as they did. Either way, sweet dime.

The "green bean" sticker is hypnotic! And they chose green for a reason; http://www.ndt-ed.org/EducationReso...response.htmThis curve peaks at 555 nanometers, which means that under normal lighting conditions, the eye is most sensitive to a yellowish-green color.

Yes, the second one, 1854-P is my current. I was trying to decide if it would cross-over from (broken out) ANACS to PCGS, as a raw submittal, or just grab the 1853-O which is already slabbed and sell the 1854-P raw.
