What's the best way to take detailed photos of my coins? Under light? Natural? Any camera? Set resolution? I'm new to collecting and picked up a 1861 silver 3 cent yesterday that I'm dying to hear opinions on grade..

I would refer you to the Coin Photography section of the CCF;

http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...?FORUM_ID=81

There is too much to describe and there is just about everyting you could want to know and LOTS of examples.

Success!

Definitely check out he photography forum and maybe start a thread there. A couple questions:

1) Are you interested in buying some equipment, and what is your budget?
2) What do you currently have in the way of photography gear? A point-and-shoot? DSLR? Camera-phone?

Ok, I'll check that out, thanks! I wasn't aware there was a photo reference here. I'm pretty new and haven't had time to explore the whole site yet. I just have 3 digital cameras... The super macro setting on my Olympus worked pretty good, I posted pics I took of the 1861 3 cent and 1938 D rainbow buffalo I just bought, the 3 cent pics came out good, I need to retake the buffalo shots.

My budgets pretty good, but I don't really want to spend too much on photography gear, aside from my coins I just take the usual "everyday" photos.. And I tend to be rough on things.. I do a lot of hiking, rockclimbing etc so I like my Olympus, it's shock and waterproof to 10feet... Thanks anyways though..
Daniels.. You can upload photos from your android? My IPhone won't allow me to to...
