Is collecting things like this even worth it? Any value in these type errors? Is it a Lam Error?

I forget what this effect is called off hand. However, it is not a lamination error at all. Can't be. In 1967 cents were not laminated. This effect, I think, is the result of a poorly mixed alloy of the copper and tin/zinc in the cent. Either that, or post mint damage of some kind. I'm not going to swing the hammer either way with certainty. But I am more of the mind this is PMD of some kind. Imagine what an alloy of zinc and copper would look like if it was exposed to something that only reacted with the zinc.

Laminations took place pre 1982 when pennies were not copper plated zinc . It is a Lamination error. Not PMD.

I stand corrected.

Good thing we have a strong community that keeps things on track. Not the first time I've been corrected either. Thanks papatony, I'll go read up on lamination errors for future reference.

Thanks,
Chadwick
