Hello Again,

As I stated in my inrto, I primarily buy coins as bullion. I purchase some every week depending on how the market is playing out. Ninety-nine percent of the time I use APMEX because I find their cost over spot to be by far the best. However I am very frustrated with their shipping policy and costs. So I am looking to buy somewhere else. There is a place called NWmint that I use time to time and even Amazon, however neither of these places offer a real time buying environment which of course is very important when you buy on spot value.

So my question is do any of you guys know of a place that has decent pricing and a quicker/fairer shipping policy than APMEX?

The only time I bought bullion was back in 2008,when I bought a monster box from these folks. At the time, they had the best price. Hopes this helps and

Amazons got the highest prices by far but can be good if you get a gift card or something. I've used provident metals and and always been very pleased.

If you are paying for shipping every time you pay for the soins isn't that pushing up the cost of your PMS. try buying local

It could. But then, some local shops charge more for gold and silver than the on-line retailers, so the difference including shipping is often nil.

Not at all a bad idea if you can find a local dealer who is good and has what you want at a decent price. I have a couple of local dealers from whom I buy at times but also buy on-line because they often have just what I want and in a large enough quantity to satisfy my order.

My local dealer is APMEX lol. The problem with local is sales tax. Just placed an order a few days ago with Provident, so far I've been impressed with their pricing and communication.

I used APMEX a few times but their shipping costs were always a killer. I switched to these guys in FL and now use them most of the time for Internet purchases of PM's.

Thank you all so much for your help and comments. I purchased some coins from one of the sites suggested. They did have a lower shipping cost (not by much) and I will post again when I receive my purchase and let you know how it went. Its been really nice being on this website, so much help!

APMEX's shipping policy favors larger purchasers. If one buys $3,000 or more worth of silver at a time, paying $25 for shipping, handling, and insurance is not that big a deal. If you only buy a few coins, then, of course, it is.
